Tea Dances at Campbeltown Town Hall
SKDT listen to the community and what they need and we work out if we have/or can find the resources to help. Our aim is to improve lives through a range of activities and interventions. Some of these can be cultural, recreational, social, and civic activities which appeal to citizens of all ages and ability.
In April we had our first (very successful) tea Dance. This was a new venture in association with Joanne Gillies and Carol Young. The Town Hall Team had been thinking about running one when these two ladies contacted us full of enthusiasm and fresh ideas. It was perfect timing, perfect hosts in a perfect venue!
The tables were dressed to the highest standard with finest china and stunning cake stands full of edible delights. Joanne and Carol had been finding out about the kinds of music people wanted and they put together a wonderful selection of music to dance or listening to.
Over 80 people arrived and filled every table. Some danced, some listened, some chatted and we hope many made new friends. We would like to see more men attend too so don’t be shy.
The next Tea Dance is planned for the 30th June and we hope you can attend. All profits from these dances will be distributed to local charities by Joanne and Carol.
You can always brush up on your ‘moves’ beforehand by joining Joanne and Carol at one of their informal dance workshops before the main event.
Workshops will be held from 7pm to 9pm on Thursday 14th and 21st June.
