Thank You For The Music

MOKFest event at the Town Hall

Those of you who’ve picked up the latest copy of the Campbeltown Courier will no doubt have seen the glowing review and fantastic pictures from our recent MOK Festival fringe event. What a night we had!
From the minute the band began to play ’til past midnight, people were up on their feet and dancing and singing along.

Of course, this fantastic evening wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work and support of so many people and we’d like to offer thanks to everyone involved, so…

First of all, thank you to Joan Stewart our fantastic MC and thank you to all the artistes who entertained us. Thank you Ruairaidh Wallace, Lorna Hume, Saffron Coffield, Gary Anderson and Johnny Coffield and of course, our wonderful band for the evening REAZON (aka Norman Stewart and our very own Zena Coffield), back after a long two year absence. Great to see you back on the stage where you belong!

Thanks to our SKDT Caretakers, Shaun and Bobby, who worked so hard to get everything set up and make sure that the night ran smoothly.

Thank you to Julie and Fiona who ran the bar and coped under immense pressure!

Thank you to Morag and Tina for the beautiful event decoration, including the incredible, hand-crafted table centrepieces.

Many thanks to the incomparable Willie Durnan for the beautiful lighting. Willie is always in much demand come the music festival and we’re sorry to have added to the load but boy did he come through for us!

Thanks to Jamie Girvan for sound and lighting advice.

A huge thank you to Campbeltown Co-op. They were a fantastic help and we just could not have managed without them. Check them out on Facebook!

Many thanks to Archie Mathieson who helped us out with pound coins when we ran out of change! We’ll have a full float next time, we promise.

Thank you to Wee Toon Trends who printed our rather snazzy staff shirts at a great price.

Thank you so much to Marlyn Moffat of Kintyre Design for the beautiful printed logo coasters. SKDT believes in supporting local suppliers and there’s really not much you can’t get locally if you look, folks!

Thank you to the Community shop who dug out a pile of old lps and singles for the hall decoration.

Thanks to everyone else who helped out, including Liz, Felicity, Les, Sandra and Jamie.

Last but not least, thank you to everyone who bought tickets and joined us for a fantastic, fun-filled night.

In fact, we had so much fun, that we’re going to do it all again. Those who came to the MOK fringe event will already know that we’ve announced a Halloween bash and we’re thrilled to confirm that ‘Til Death Do Us Party will be going ahead on Saturday 27th October. More details will come soon, along with an announcement of tickets going on sale, so watch this space!
